About Me:
First I would like to thank you for visiting my online studio. Since I was a young girl I have loved everything with a creative heartbeat. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and I am the youngest of five children. I believe being the youngest of five helped me be diverse with my hobbies and interests. I was interested in anything my sisters or brother were interested in. I believe this is why I always try something new and look forward to discovering new hobbies, skills and activities.
Even though I respected my sisters' and brother's interests I formed my own interests and hobbies at a young age. Since I can remember I have always wanted to be a writer, and I have been drawing and painting since I could hold a pencil and paint brush. It was in High School that I expanded my artistic interest and began taking pictures and "exploring" computer design programs that helped me play with images and create designs. When I graduated High School and moved onto college I had to think about what I wanted to study that would combine all of my passions; Writing, Creative Art, Design and Photography. I soon found myself as a Journalism Major with emphases in Print, Magazine Design & Photojournalism.
I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B. A. in 2006. After graduating I stumbled around the "real world" finding myself with little job opportunites. Finally I took a job that "paid the bills" and didn't require a college education. Every day I committed myself to a job that left no room for creativity, passion or even mental analysis. In other words I was miserable. After my 3 years at my first out- of- college job came to an end I began working at a Regional Equine Publication The Mid-South Horse Review. I worked as a Writer and Photographer covering equine sporting events. I also had my own Humor Column. I also served as the Creative Director and Managed all advertising and layout design. After two years at the Equine News Magazine I now find myself at the
Memphis Business Journal working in the Advertising Department and planning creative Marketing Campaigns. I love everything I do and I am so blessed to have a wonderful career!
2010 & 2011 have been amazing years. I was published in my first book, Horsenameographies Life Stories in a Race Horse Name, which all proceeds go toward Thoroughbred Race Horse Rescues. I opened my own Multi- Media Studio offering Photography, Custom Designs, Artwork and even Writing Services. The MSHR has grown and has transitioned from a small town Newspaper to THE News Magazine of the Mid- South. And I now work with the most Credible and Prestigous Publication in the Mid- South. The one thing I learned from my first out- of- college, "get the bills paid job" was to never settle for just a paycheck and to do what you love while chasing dreams! Again THANK YOU for visiting my Online Studio and don't hesitate to contact me about any creative needs you are wanting!!!
