First I would like to thank you for visiting my website. Since I was a young girl I have loved everything about creating and celebrating art. I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and I am the youngest of five children. I believe being the youngest has helped me be open to change, welcome diversity and create my own personal style and artwork.
Since I can remember I have been drawing and painting. It was in high school that I expanded my artistic interest and began taking photographs and learning computer design programs. When I graduated high school I decided to study in a multimedia field. I quickly found myself as a Journalism major studying print journalism with an emphasis in magazine design and business.
I graduated with a B. A. in Journalism in 2006 from the University of Mississippi and quickly found myself with little job opportunities in the journalism field. I ultimately took a job that was not in line with my career goals. I committed myself to a job that left no room for design, creativity, art or storytelling.
After three years at my first out- of- college job I decided I needed to do whatever it took to build a career in the media and art world, so I took a leap of faith. In 2009 I started selling paintings and portrait photography. Soon after I accepted a position at the Memphis Business Journal.
Today I work full time as a Senior Business Development Executive growing revenues, audience engagement and partnerships. Even though I work full time at MBJ I am able to balance my love for the arts and create custom artwork for clients, pursue exhibits throughout the south, and continue portrait photography for families. I am extremely blessed to continue my love for art while working in the media industry. I am beyond grateful for the support I have from my family, friends, co-workers, and professional mentors.
I believe people become successful while doing the things they love. I love painting, I love photography and I love working in the media industry. The one thing I learned from my first out- of- college job was to never settle and to do what you love while chasing dreams! I want to personally THANK YOU for visiting my website and learning a little more about me. Please do not hesitate to contact me about any creative needs you may have.
Please email me any question you may have, or if you'd like information on custom southern or landscape artwork or portrait photography:
